If you open a document which has been certified/signed by a Betrust certificate and the document is opened A.Reader will show following remark concerning the signature:

(We apologize for the Dutch screens only. If someone can send us the corresponding French/English version ? Thx!)

The message 'Ten minste één handtekening is problematisch' indicates A.Reader could not automatically verify the ROOT certificate (in this case BETRUST).

This does NOT mean the signature is invalid. It is valid (no red cross!!) but A.Reader was not able to verify it as the ROOT certificate could not be automatically found.

To solve this you need to tell A.Reader to trust this certificate

Tell A.Reader to trust this certificate

Do as follows:

1. Click on Certificaatdetails (Certificatedetails)::

2. In the popup, select the tab Vetrouwd (Trusted)

3. Select Toevoegen aan vertrouwde certificaten (Add to trusted certificates)

4. Click on OK:

5. Check the checkbox Dit certificaat gebruiken als vertrouwd basiscertificaat (Use this certificate as a trusted root certificate)

6. Check Gecertificeerde documenten (Certified documents)

7. Click OK.

8.Click OK.

9. Close A.Reader

10. Reopen the document with A.Reader

11. The green check appears:
